RIBIT is a “one off”.  That is, a custom built 44’ ketch designed by Steve Seaton and built in Palm Beach, Florida, by Liberty Yachts.   This is a pedigree of the highest class.  When she was built she was featured in several magazines and in the book “Cruising Sailboat Kinetics”.  One thing for certain – she will always be the prettiest boat in the anchorage.  	RIBIT has been lightly used with only three owners.

RIBIT is constructed with a hand layup on a male mold using Airex-cored hull and deck.  Even though built in 1979 this is still considered the “gold standard” of hull construction.   Hull core plugs and pictures of the hull under construction are available.

Construction:   Much higher class than average construction with hand layup fiberglass hull, deck and cabin with Aires cored hull and decks.   Plugs are on board for all thru-hull fittings, showing impressive thickness and composition at various points throughout.  Steve Seaton designed the RIBIT 44 for Joe Fennell, owner of Liberty Yachts, Inc., Riviera Beach, Fl., and built for her first owner in Rockledge, Fla.

Spars and rigging:   Masts are keel stepped.   Rigging has recently been overhauled and some wires and turnbuckles were replaced.   The bobstay turnbuckle was replaced.  All are in excellent condition.  
Centerboards:  Aft centerboard was removed and hardware overhauled at last haulout.  Forward board was dropped and overhauled at previous haulout.  Photos are available of both boards.  

Deck:  Deck is the same heavy cored construction as the hull.   It is very secure with Treadmaster non-skid all around and on cabin top, double life lines on outboard side and sturdy hand rails on inboard side.  Cockpit is at center and has a hard roof and opening windows on front.   There is a full canvas enclosure for cockpit    All sails are manageable from the cockpit, as is the prop pitch and both centerboards.

Sails and canvas:  All working sails are tanbark brown.   All are in excellent condition.  Jib and staysail are both roller furling.  Main has lazy-jacks for ease in  dropping and furling.   Main also nests in a gallows for secure control while furling and stability while not in use.  
There is a large almost new awning the covers most of the cabin house and cockpit house when the boat is not in use.   An awning covers the aft cabin house and can be left up while sailing without the mizzen or partially removed when mizzen is in use to cover the aft-cabin hatch and helm.  
Sails include:  Main, Mizzen, 125% Genoa, Jib Top Sail, Staysail, Cruising Spinnaker, Storm Jib, Storm Trysail.  There are covers for all hatches that are also wind scoops.  All are like new.
